Day 2 | UP: Passionate Spirituality

READ

Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,

and do not lean on your own understanding.

6 In all your ways acknowledge him,

and he will make straight your paths.

Submission here means acknowledging God in every aspect of our lives. We aim to seek His guidance and align our actions with His will, ensuring that we are following His path rather than our own.

REFLECT

Questions to help you reflect on knowing and trusting God with all aspects of life:

1. What has Jesus been calling you to give to Him recently? Time, talents, anxieties, fears, bad habits?

2. How do you trust Jesus?

Review the UP statements below. Discern how true or untrue these statements are in your life. What would you do next to strengthen this aspect of your walk with Jesus?

• My identity is grounded in God.

• I wake up each day ready to worship God through my lips, my service, and my decisions.

• I love to attend worship services with other believers each Sunday.

• I enjoy reading the bible regularly with a desire to know more about God and my relationship to Him.

• My prayer life is thriving and in line with God’s desires for me.

• I joyfully give 10% or more of what God has given to me to further His kingdom work on earth.

• I hear from God’s direction for me through His Word and His people.

Day 1 | UP: Passionate Spirituality

READ

John 5:19-20 ESV

The Authority of the Son

19 So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise. 20 For the Father loves the Son and shows him all that he himself is doing. And greater works than these will he show him, so that you may marvel.

In this passage, we see Jesus teaching the disciples to model Him in His connection to the Father.

REFLECT

3. How would you describe Jesus in one word?

INVITE: The invitation to God’s kingdom is for everyone. Jesus encourages us to go out and invite all we encounter to join the celebration. Think about the people you interact with daily – coworkers, neighbors, friends. Extend an invitation to them to join you at church, where they can be part of the joyous community and discover God’s love.

23 “Then the master told his servant, ‘Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full.

INVITE: God desires His house to be full, and He sends us out to invite everyone to come in. This scripture reminds us that no one is beyond the reach of God’s love. INVITE: Life can be overwhelming and burdensome, but Jesus offers us a place of rest and peace. When we invite others to church, we are extending an invitation to find solace and comfort in Christ. Reflect on those in your life who may be struggling and need this message of hope. Invite them to church, where they can lay down their burdens and find rest for their souls.

INVITE: These verses emphasize the importance of how believers interact with non-believers, urging them to act wisely and seize every opportunity to share their faith. By ensuring their conversations are gracious and engaging, believers can effectively communicate the message of Christ. This approach helps create an inviting and welcoming atmosphere for non-believers to explore the church and its teachings.

INVEST: Jesus reminds us that we are chosen and appointed to bear lasting fruit. This means living a life that reflects His love and leads others to Him. Our influence can make an eternal difference. As we invest in relationships and share our faith, we bear fruit that remains. Seek God’s guidance in your efforts and trust that He will use you to impact others for His kingdom.
