Day 5

Day 5 – August 12, 2021 – Marianne Thompson

2 Corinthians 12:9-10

But he said to me My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.  Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.  For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weakness, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities.  For when I am weak, I am strong.

We serve a God who turns our greatest weakness into our greatest strengths.  All we have to do is have an open heart, open mind and the willingness to trust in His grace.  Have you ever thought you finally have it all together only to find out you are still in chaos?  Every day I’m made aware of my many weaknesses, whether it is sin, physical exhaustion or stress.  Thankfully in all those instances I have a God whose grace is sufficient and provides me strength in my weakness.  Our heavenly Father says, “My power is made perfect in weakness.”  When we are at our weakest point, God’s grace provides us with strength we would never reach on our own.  God works miracles in those who come to Him broken and desperate.  Daily I’m made aware of how much I need Christ in my life to help me navigate a world where many rely on man-made riches instead of the riches of love, peace and joy that can only be found in a relationship with Christ.  Rejoice in your weakness, be humble and know that our God’s grace is sufficient.  Acknowledge your need for His strength and allow God’s power to work in your life, through your weakness, resting in the faith that His strength is sufficient.

Heavenly Father, I thank You and give praise for Your grace, mercy and strength in my weakness.  I ask the Holy Spirit to remind me daily of my dependence and need for You.   Let me be a positive reflection of weakness to show what almighty strength can be found in You.   Let me accomplish what You have set before me through the power of the Holy Spirit.  Let Your grace always be sufficient.  In Christ’s name I pray.  Amen.
