Revelation 21:1-4

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

WOW!! Talk about the ultimate renovation…getting a new heaven and earth!

As homeowners, we dream and plan about ways to fix up our homes… the gourmet kitchen, spa bathroom, or the tricked-out man cave… but, God is going big with the renovations. Bigger than anything we can imagine. He is doing all the planning and installation, with no disruptions or dust. The hardest part about this renovation is going to be the wait. While we wait, we need to turn to God for patience, stay unified in our faith and exhibit God’s love to the whole world.

It’s pretty mind-blowing to think of what God can do for us. Not just replacing this physical material world we live in, but also the ability to take away all the pain, suffering, and death. Knowing that we will be living joy-filled lives every day for eternity is something to celebrate! We can rejoice in the knowledge of what is coming for us and during this time we must live our best lives, spread the message of God’s love, and have patience.

Prayer: Dear Lord thank you for giving me so much to look forward to in my life, because I know what is coming, it makes all the mountains I face a little easier to overcome. Please continue to give me strength, patience, and love.
